Making Way for the Future

The Mexican chain restaurant Chipotle is known for its delicious Mexican cuisine. Very few know about how well the company takes care of its loyal employees. Employee loyalty just got a huge reason to stay amongst the Chipotle Company. Hourly paid workers at Chipotle are in the process of getting paid sick days and vacation days. As it turns out, the company isn’t stopping there. Chipotle is also looking to reimburse its employees for their college tuitions as well. Previously these benefits are only given to salaried employees but the company has decided to share these benefits with the rest of the workforce. Chief marketing associates at Chipotle have decided to make room for the future. Instead of hoping that employees will stay around just for a paycheck, the company wants to give the employees something to look forward to. The company is very keen to the idea of promoting from within and getting the best potential out of every employee that they have on their roster. The recent news coming out of Chipotle has made heads turn not just amongst their customers and employees, but among their competition as well. Keith Mann (about.me) agrees that Chipotle’s raise in benefits and perks will surely have numerous restaurant and fast food giants tripping over themselves to ensure that their employees receive similar, if not the same, type of benefits.

Puff the Magic Dragon Restaurant Chain

Themed Restaurant Opening Soon
The song that was made famous by Peter, Paul, and Mary “Puff the Magic Dragon” will soon be a themed restaurant chain. Steven Schussler of Schussler Creative Inc. has already acquired the licensing rights to this chain. The mission of this family-themed restaurant is to provide a restaurant that will be based on the actual story character Puff the dragon. This is the magical and gentle beast. His most famous restaurant themed chain is The Rainforest Café. Schussler is currently talking with some names at the Food Network and in the process of developing designs for his latest themed restaurant. Worldwide licensing rights obtained by Schussler will include “Puff” merchandise. It will also be determined where the opening location will be. Foodies at The Aspire New Brunswick (apartments.com) are excited to hear that they are talking about even including a celebrity chef.

The Dorchester Collection Quietly Makes a Big Splash

In the world of high-end, luxury hotels, discretion is often the best policy. Leave the showmanship for the brands that have something to prove; true elegance will show through to the discerning traveler. One group of hotels exemplifies this principle perfectly.

You may not have heard of the Dorchester Collection, but you’ve certainly heard of its hotels. There’s its namesake, The Dorchester, which sits on one of London’s most exclusive addresses just on the southeast edge of Hyde Park. Those who have frequented this venerable locale include famous writers, painters, and musicians. Even the future Queen Elizabeth II attended an event at the hotel on the day prior to the announcement of her engagement.

Then there’s The Beverly Hills Hotel, whose ambiance couldn’t contrast more starkly with that of The Dorchester. For years, the hotel has been the Los Angeles spot to see and be seen. Howard Hughes lived there; The Beatles stayed there; the hotel features on the cover of The Eagles’ iconic Hotel California album.

If you’re looking for options on continental Europe, the Dorchester Collection includes Milan’s Principe di Savoia, Paris’ Hotel Meurice and Plaza Athene, and Geneva’s Le Richemond.

The Dorchester Collection strives to achieve a uniform level of high service at all of its hotels while still maintaining a unique identity. Many hotels are maintained in the style that was prevalent during its construction. And the hotels in the collection don’t stop at their rooms and hospitality; they feature restaurants directed by some of the world’s most famous chefs, and many include luxurious spas.

Simon Jenkins, Head Pastry Chef at Coworth Park, demonstrates how to make an espumas (foam), which is a unique mango recipe to spice up your desserts with exotic flavor and texture.

The Dorchester Collection isn’t solely concerned with its exterior services. In 2012, it won the prestigious Gold Award at the HR Excellence Awards. Not only does the collection serve its customers well, it is a great place to work.

The collection currently owns ten hotels and intends to expand in the near future. For now, make sure you include a few of its hotels in your future travel plans.
